Adult Disability Payment

A person (R) is helping another person (L) to walk.

As of this week, there will be no new DWP Personal Independence Payment (PIP) applications in Lanarkshire. This has been replaced with Social Security Scotland’s Adult Disability Payment (ADP).

This is an important step in creating a social security system that is human-centred and designed to help people, not deny them what they are entitled to.

All existing PIP claims and some Disability Living Allowance (DLA) claims will transfer to ADP by the end of the year.
